We are delighted to announce the success of the Met
in winning the Wales Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors
Award – Building that Best Benefits a Community. We
shall now go on to the national and international awards to
be announced on October 17th 2008!
In its hey day, around 120 years ago, the Metropole was the
social centre of Abertillery.
In recent years it fell into disrepair, but through European
Funding and the support of
the local community, it has been restored to become a state
of the art conference centre.
This superb facility can cater for conferences for 2 to 200
and is, once again, a cultural
